What is thermal underwear?

Thermal underwear – is functional under layer of special weaving with functions of maintaining warmth and wicking moisture away from the skin.

What is use of thermal underwear?

Thermal underwear is intended for everyday wear at work or for leisure activities, sports, hunting, fishing and camping.

How thermal underwear is manufactured?

We use knitted fabrics of special weaving of pure cotton, combination of cotton and polyester, two and three layer fabrics of different composition brushed inside for manufacturing Laplandic® thermal underwear.

In order to reach close fit we add elastic fabric in composition of our thermals, which is spandex. Acrylic makes our garments especially warm, while polyamide improves durability.

For reaching active moisture removal during strenuous physical activity we use 100% polyester fabric.

How does it work?

	When air contained in the fabric comes into contact with the skin it warms up forming a protective air layer between the skin and the cold outside. The ambient body temperature is then preserved.

	When you engage in physical activity or exercise your body temperature increases and your skin releases moisture (sweat). Typically this moisture accumulates in your clothing, which impairs its thermal-insulating properties. As a result, additional energy is used to warm your body and you begin to feel cold. Functional thermal underwear absorbs moisture and wicks it away from the skin.
The protective warm air layer between the skin and the cold outside pulls the moisture from the thermal underwear because of the pressure difference. This effect reduces the body heat loss in cold weather improving the feeling of comfort and protects the body from hypothermia and overheating.
